It generates interest in them at an early stage to learn and understand the principles of Engineering and Applied Science. They also develop skills of communication with peers, seniors and teachers. The courses in Applied Science are supported by two well equipped Labs:

The Department of Physics serves HCET undergraduates in many ways. Two semesters of physics are required of all BHCET undergraduate students.

The Department takes pride in offering numerous flavors of Physics I and Physics II to accommodate the diverse learning styles of BHCET students. We deploy many of our best teachers to work. Department of Physics has been a national resource since the turn of the 20th century. Our Department has been at the center of the revolution in understanding the nature of matter and energy and the dynamics of the cosmos.

The department of Chemistry covers a range of interests unusually wide for a department of inorganic chemistry, including especially coordination and organ metallic chemistry, catalysis, solid-state and surface chemistry, electrochemistry, the study of proteins, enzymes and the role of magnetic species in biological systems, and the application of a variety of spectroscopic and diffraction techniques. Both experimental and theoretical aspects are addressed.

The Institute has a well developed Central Workshop located on an area of more than 900 sq. m for the students of all disciplines.

It provides practical training to the students of all branches.

Teaching is examination-oriented based on student teacher interaction and "students interacting with knowledge information resource centre". A well-equipped, well managed and automated library is available in this institute. Library is the foundation of a modem educational Institute.
